Welcome to Team Nanaimo
On behalf of the Board of Directors of Nanaimo Spirit of BC Community
Committee, welcome to the web site of TEAM NANAIMO. The original "Team"
was formulated in the Fall of 2002 when a small group of like minded
individuals met in an attempt to create a ground swell of local support
to back the Vancouver/Whistler bid to become hosts the 2010 Winter Olympic
and Paralympic Games. "Team Nanaimo, We're Backing the Bid"
was the first active community committee formed outside the Lower Mainland.
Spirit of BC Community Committee - Nanaimo was formed in September of 2003
with a broad community base reflecting the need for future collaboration
and partnerships and to develop strategy. We have now evolved into the
Nanaimo Spirit of BC Committee. The excitement builds as we
2010 approaches. The opportunities for our community are endless as we welcome
the world and the worldwide media attention up to 2010 and beyond. Nanaimo
is blessed with many incredible amenities and now it's our time to shine
as we invite the world!
