Team Nanaimo assembles monthly in the Games Room 2 at Bowen Centre.

March 6, 2010 Team Nanaimo Secretary Bert Abbott carries the flame for the 2010 Winter Paralympic Games in Victoria's inner harbour.
February 13, 2010 Team Nanaimo participates at Woodgrove Centre's Home Cheering Section opening ceremonies. The section provides an Olympic event viewing area and a "ski jump" coin toss to support Canadian athletes. The event features a parade of RBC torch bearers, who follow a mall-wide procession led by Snuneymuxwqun xwsqutum singers and drummers. Vice-Chair Joanne Hogan promotes Let's Celebrate Together! and leads the crowd in a Go, Canada, Go! cheer.
February 12 to 28, 2010

Let's Celebrate Together! Team Nanaimo invites Nanaimoites to view seven Olympic events on the Live Site screen in Diana Krall Plaza in downtown Nanaimo. The opening and closing ceremonies, men's and women's gold medal hockey game, women's and men's curling gold finals, and men's hockey bronze medal game are featured broadcasts.

February 28: Many Nanaimoites gather at Diana Krall Plaza to view the gold medal men's ice hockey game and the closing ceremonies of the 2010 Olympic Games. Please see article from the Nanaimo Daily News.

February 6, 2010 Team Nanaimo sponsors the award for Official of the Year at the Nanaimo Sport Achievement Awards, held at Coast Bastion Inn. Team Nanaimo Chair Camela Tang presents the award to Soccer Official Harry Sommerfeld. The awards ceremony helps fundraise for local athletes Darah Provencal (curling), Andrea Lee (skiing), and Trevor Nagy (gymnastics). Team Nanaimo is proud to have sponsored a array of award categories at the Nanaimo Sport Achievement Awards ceremony since 2006.
January 22, 2010 With Nanaimo Art Gallery, Team presents Art and the Message, showcasing local Nanaimo artists. Opening night celebrations take place on January 22. The exhibit runs from January 14 to February 13, 2010.
November 10, 2009 Team Nanaimo hosts a reception at Bowen Park and presents the Nanaimo video. A number of community members who are featured in the video are among the reception's attendees.
November 9, 2009 Chair Camela Tang attends the Nanaimo City Council meeting and presents the Nanaimo video, which is well received.
November 1, 2009 Chair Camela Tang and Member-at-Large Yvonne Visser carry the flame on Day 3 of the Torch Relay. Camela runs in North Nanaimo and Yvonne runs in Hilliers (near Coombs).
October 31, 2009 Team Nanaimo provides free souvenir torches to Nanaimoites to carry and wave with pride while viewing the torch relay and attending the festivities at Spirit Square in Maffeo-Sutton Park.
October 20, 2009 The Olympic Torch Relay route is announced for Nanaimo. The torch will travel through Nanaimo on October 31, 2009, Day 2 of the relay.
September 28 , 2009 Nanaimo video is launched at Vancouver International Airport.
June 11, 2009 YVR awards $10,000 to Team Nanaimo to present a three-minute video about Nanaimo, which will run from October 2009 to March 2010 on Vancouver International Airport's many television monitors
February 14, 2009 Sport Fest 2009 - The fifth annual event is presented by Team Nanaimo as part of Spirit of BC Week as the one-year countdown to the 2010 Games begins.
February 7, 2009 Team Nanaimo sponsors and presents the Nanaimo Sport Achievement Award for the Masters Athlete of the Year to Bruce Busby (Track and Field).
August 8, 2008 Live Site Screening of the Opening Ceremonies of the 2008 Beijing Summer Olympic Games at Diana Krall Square in Downtown Nanaimo
July 26, 2008 As Nanaimo celebrates its designation as one of Canada's Cultural Capitals in 2008, Team Nanaimo helps out at the ceremonies in Departure Bay as the Tribal Journeys canoes arrive in Nanaimo and the first of Nanaimo's three Heritage Portals are unveiled (Team Nanaimo photos to come).
July 9, 2008

PacificSport Vancouver Island (a Team Nanaimo partner) and Oceanside's Spirit of BC Committee co-host a rally on July 9, 2008, to show support for Beijing-bound Mid-Island athletes.

May 31, 2006 The RBC 2010 Legacies Now Speaker Series featured Bill Malone of Park City, Utah (site of the 2002 Winter Games), who discussed Bringing Opportunities to BC, at an event in Nanaimo hosted by the Greater Nanaimo Chamber of Commerce and Team Nanaimo.
February 4, 2006 Team Nanaimo sponsors and presents the Nanaimo Sport Achievement Award for the Female Team Athlete of the Year to Jamie Broder of the Malaspina Mariners Vollyball Team
