Funding Sources
COMMUNITY FUNDING OPPORTUNITIES
The Funding and Grant Development Committee helps the Nanaimo community maximize
the benefits from funding programs associated with the 2010 Winter Olympics
and Paralympics. So fa,r we have seen the Provincial and Federal governments
initiate a number of programs designed to assist local organizations. We also
know that, over the next two years, more funding programs will be announced.
It is our aim that our local people, community, organizations and city benefit
as much as possible.
In particular, the Sub-Committee addresses:
1. Keep up-to-date with all funding programs
2. Inform the community of available funding programs
3. Aim to maximize opportunities for Nanaimo
4. Monitor all applications
5. Provide advice on potential matching funding opportunities
6. Provide advice on presenting the best application possible
7. Encourage partnering where appropriate
