2007 Seniors Games $5000 Encouragement
Team Nanaimo is investing in our community with a commitment of $5000
in support of the BC Seniors Games to be hosted in Nanaimo this September.
Camela Tang, Chair of Team Nanaimo, sees the games as a wonderful
opportunity for both the seniors who engage in the games and the excellent
role model for active living it presents to the younger population.
“We are literally setting the stage for healthy activity in
Nanaimo, as we are the official sponsors of the Senior Games Main
Stage in the athlete’s village, which will include a not-to-be-missed
Seniors Idol competition.”
Team Nanaimo’s mission is to build community support for the
2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games while ensuring local opportunities
and a strong sport and cultural legacy for our city. “The opportunities
for our community are endless as we welcome the world and the worldwide
media attention up to 2010 and beyond. Nanaimo is blessed with many
incredible amenities and now it's our time to shine as we invite the
world!”
