Sport Fest has taken place five times in Nanaimo in February from 2005 to 2009, as part of the annual Spirit of BC Week festivities, presented by Spirit of BC Committees throughout British Columbia. Team Nanaimo is proud to have facilitated free interactive sports for youth and adult participants over these last five years.
Sport Fest 2009 was our biggest and most successful event. We sincerely thank our sponsors and community partners , and our dedicated volunteers, for their efforts in making this a memorable event as we count down to the 2010 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Sport Fest 2009
Sport Fest 2009 brings Nanaimo's sport enthusiasts together to celebrate their love of sport on Valentine's Day. Sport Fest is a fun festival, where kids and adults can learn about new sports in a fun and interactive way.
Sport Fest takes place at Nanaimo's Beban Park primarily at Frank Crane Arena, Beban Park Pool, and the Breezeway between the Arena and the Social Centre. In addition to our free skate and free swim, in 2009, we welcome the BC Lottery Corporation 2010 Winter Games Dome, featuring a hockey activity for adults. Both BC Hydro's Power Smart team and BC Lottery Corporation are offering adult participants the chance to win Olympic event tickets this year, too.
Events include land curling, land luge, wheelchair basketball, free skating (with local mascots on the ice), free swimming, softball demos, and a special performance by a Vancouver Island magician!
Join us for our fifth annual day of fun!
